About this course
The Certified Data Protection Officer training course enables you to develop the necessary knowledge, skills and competence to effectively implement and manage a compliance framework with regard to the protection of personal data.
After mastering all the necessary concepts of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you can sit for the exam and apply for a “PECB Certified Data Protection Officer” credential. By holding a PECB Certified Data Protection Officer Certificate, you will demonstrate that you thoroughly understand the gap between the General Data Protection Regulation and the current organizational processes including:
privacy policies, procedures, working instructions, consent forms, data protection impact assessments, in order to associate organizations in the adoption process to the new regulation.
Objectives
By the end of this training course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the concepts of the GDPR and interpret its requirements
- Understand the content and the correlation between the General Data Protection Regulation and other regulatory frameworks and applicable standards, such as ISO/IEC 27701, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST Frameworks, and more
- Acquire the competence to perform the role and daily tasks of the data protection officer in an organization
- Develop the ability to inform, advise, and monitor compliance with the GDPR and cooperate with the supervisory authority

Day 1: Introduction to the GDPR concepts and principles
Day 2: Designation of the DPO and analysis of the GDPR compliance program
Day 3: DPO operations
Day 4: Monitoring and continual improvement of GDPR compliance
Day 5: GDPR Toolkit practice and analysis, and certification exam
Certification and Accreditation
After passing the exam, you can apply for one of the credentials in the table below. You will receive a certificate once you fulfill all the requirements of the selected credential.
The certification requirements for PECB Data Protection Certifications are:

- Assisting in applying the GDPR requirements

Examination
The “PECB Certified Data Protection Officer” exam fully meets the PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP) requirements. It covers the following competency domains:
Domain 1: Data protection concepts, GDPR, and compliance measures.
Domain 2: Roles and responsibilities of accountable parties for the GDPR compliance
Domain 3: Technical and organizational measures for data protection

Educational Approach
